I just read Altmann's Tongue. I'm about to start Father of Lies. I think my pediatrician was named doctor Altmann. He also had a tongue. His name was probably spelled like the film director's. Why is nearly every character in Evenson's stories German?

Thanks for this. As chance would have it, I've been researching Brown and thought it'd be wise to brush up on my Evenson. Serendipitous?

Bradley, I'm about to embark on an Evenson reading binge, too. Good question, though, about the German-named characters.

I hope the research is going well, Molly, and that the links help in some way.
